Has anyone ever priced or know the average time and cost to develop a 5-minute training video?
How many hours would it take to develop this 5-minute video? This would be if you were to hire a training/video company to do the project. What is the average cost? This would be for professional video filming and voiceovers, Flash animation (putting it all together in Flash), instructional design/scripting, editing, and production. Would appreciate the help! Thanks! |

I actually got a quote for $11,000 for everything listed above (including duplication of 125 CDs with labels). The company said it would take a total of 5 weeks from the date the contract is signed.
Is this quote about right or is it too high or too low? |

Jason, this seems high to me, but then again many companies will have price minimums. Whether it's 5 minutes or 5 hours, you would still have to do the packaging, etc.
I've sent this on to a couple of video companies I've worked with locally though, just to see their reaction. I'll let you know. Jay Jay Lambert Integrated Learning Services, Inc. www.integratedlearnings.com eLearning blog: http://blog.integratedlearningservices.com |

Here is a reply I received already. It looks like your $11K bid is right in the middle of her initial reaction.
"Well it really depends on a lot of factors: content; inside/outside, tech/CRM, actors/employees, script/tech manual, VO/dialogue, animation/still graphics, amount of animation/graphics, stock library footage, crew number based on several of the above factors. Lowest most likely $6500-15,000." Hope this helps, Jay Jay Lambert Integrated Learning Services, Inc. www.integratedlearnings.com eLearning blog: http://blog.integratedlearningservices.com |
