I work for an organization that uses web-based training to train new hires on how to do the job in a call center environment. We have run into issues with an older generation returning to the workplace or looking for part-time employement, they are not able to complete the training program. I was wondering if there are any tips on how to overcome this challenge without changing the entire training program. We are a perfect environment for these individuals if we can get them thru the trainign program. The job is done on a computer so taking them out of the training curriculum is not an option. Thanks for the help.
There are several approaches to increasing adoption of e-learning, regardless of the generational differences. It doesn't mean having to restructure your course, but you may have to add in some additional preparation steps.
Some keyword searches that would help provide some insight on what to do include "self efficacy", "Technology Acceptance Model", and "Expectation Confirmation Model". All of these can be applied to your situation. Please email me if you would like more information.
