I'm on the hunt for some type of project planning template that could be used for tracking training projects through all phases of development (Analysis through Evaluation). Nothing fancy, just a word document or a Excel spreadsheet that can help me stay more organized. We're hiring a new instructional designer who is also brand new to the field, so I think it would be helpful to get the project planning out of my head and into a trackable document.
If anyone has a template or just some helpful hints on how to track projects when there is no fancy software available, I would be grateful.

A word of caution -- e-learning is a combination of instructional design and software development. It creates a far more complex iterative cycle that most linear paradigms cannot address.
Thanks, FF. I agree that e-learning combines the two and it's all very complex. How do you manage your e-learning projects? Any suggestions for someone who is currently a one-person show and needs to start tracking this stuff?

Are you asking about tracking for training projects in general or just for e-learning? Maybe I missed something, but I don't see "e-learning" in your original post.
I'm looking for either one. I do both types of projects - general training and e-learning. My original thought was if I at least got a good tool for tracking the phases of a general training project, that would give me a jumping off point for tracking the e-learning projects. Hope this makes sense.
I just really need a step in the right direction, so to speak...
