Any suggestions on how to increase the interactivity in e-learning without significantly increasing the burden on faculty or staff to maintain and validate the interactivity?

I would outsource it in that situation. Work with a boutique that specializes in e-learning, and you'll have great interactivity without increasing the burden on staff. May increase the budget, but having internal staff do things is not without cost.

Hi Michele,

I only disagree with Sheldon's wording. I hate the term Outsource. I would identify an elearning partner for higher levels of interactivity. I am doing this currently. For my part the key is to clearly understand your staff's time and skill limitations and then finding a partner that can best deliver the type of content you need at an adequate level that won't break your budget. I think the companies that consistently produce this kind of interactive, award-winning content generally go from $40,000 and up for a finished hour of elearning. Something to consider when budgeting.

Thanks,
Nick
