Getting ready to pull the trigger on one LMS vendor or the other. Has anyone else done a side-by-side between these two companies recently? If so, which way did you go, and why? I've got the two products tailored to as close to an apples-to-apples product offering as possible, but once I pull the trigger, that's it, I'm married to them. Also, if anyone has any post-implementation kudos or horror stories for either of these products, I'd love to hear it.
Looking forward to hearing back from you all (y'all, for you TX folks) ASAP.
Hi, not sure what you are going to do with either one (i.e. your LMS needs) but I have experience with both.. both are "good" LMS's, both will be very expensive in the long run, as the services fees will mount up. (I am suprised you did not look at some of the platforms that would allow you to do most of the configuration and administration yourself) Learn.com has had a tough time the last year, apparently stemming from very poor customer service and a lot of unhappy customers. They had a couple of large layoff's in 2008. Geo is a very pretty LMS but again the license fees you pay will seem minimal when you begin to have to pay and pay for services and support. As far as an LMS, they are both comparable, both built on thier own unique software, so the expected problems arise, and it prevent you from doing much internally. Not sure if this helps? I would be happy to engage via email if you think I can be of help.. steve scase20@juno.com
Actually, heard good and bad on both... it's truly about fit.
You may want to look at 360 studies from the Elearning Guild. I think they do some very good side-by-side comparisons (but it doesn't complete a full picture).
We have Learn.com. We are small potatoes contract to them. Despite some of troubles in 2008, my experience with the tech support has been one of superb customer service.
We use GeoLearning. We have had a good experience so far (we rolled it out June 2008)... we have not experienced any additional fees. A few quirks in a couple of courses from skillsoft, but overall a satisfactory experience thus far.
