Hi kchowe -- could you please provide a bit more context? With what resources are you starting this process? (e.g., subject matter experts, existing materials, knowledge of in-class activities, etc...) What, specifically, are you looking to convert? (e.g., The entire learning experience? Just pre-work? Is it all appropriate for online delivery?...etc...) ... i.e., Have you already done the design of the learning for an online delivery and now you're just looking for a tool with which to develop it?

Well, I don't have a lot of information yet. I just wanted to do some research on switching IL training to an e-learning. It is an existing training that I will be converting to e-learning. I was looking for a resource that I can use for tips, help on how to get started designing the e-learning from IL training.
kchowe - based on what you're saying, it sounds as though you really need to begin at the beginning. A class that was held face-to-face in a classroom doesn't necessarily just "convert" to e-learning. One could begin by examining the current instructional design and digging into what would/could be delivered via e-learning. Also - one needs to know about the technology one has available - is it only asynchronous? Will there be video conferencing? Phone calls? What other synchronous tools are available? etc. etc. There are many, MANY good books already on the shelves about good instructional design married with good blended use of online tools. From what you've said so far, it sounds as though a good bit of solid research (and analysis) is in order... just as it is when starting any new project. Best of luck to you.
