Hi Everyone,

I posted here a few times; I'm trying to do some research before selecting an LMS for my company. We are a small/medium business that has been growing and now has a need for online training.

While I've come across many that provide the courses, I wish to develop the content myself (or have someone in the company do it). A lot of people have recommended Moodle but I want some more options to consider. Thanks in advance.

LMS selection is usually dependent on number of factors. Usually you define/identify these in your learning strategy. Some factors you may want to consider.

1. Infrastructure: Do you have the necessary infrastructure or budget to host a LMS internally or would you prefer a hosted solution

2. Most LMS allow you to develop your content and deliver the content through the LMS. You need to determine what standards (if any) you will implement. AICC/SCORM 1.2/ SCORM 2004

3. Your userbase will also impact the LMS selection. How is the user base located, access to internet, computing level.

4. Have you already selected your LCMS/ authoring tool or how you will develop the content

Hi,

You may want to look at EKP from NetDimensions..it is available in three versions...as a hosted or owned solution. EKP is available for deployment at a price as low as 2 USD per user. It has been implemented for over 600 customers globally ...

Please feel free to contact me at ankur.rimjhim@peakpacificgroup.com for more details.

Thanks,

I have always went for the free ones first and then you can always up grade. You should include www.learningzen.com. It is a free, online learning management system that allows anyone to create courses and validate learning. Make sure to include it in your evaluation and good luck.

Hi learningeverday,

My company (Convergent Learning) provides a hosted Moodle solution. Our solution allows you to leverage the advantage of having your own LMS without the need to build or support all components of the system yourself. We provide various support options to give you as much control over the system as you want or need.

We also provide LMS consulting services to help you find an LMS solution that fits your requirements. I have written a white paper that recommends a process to help make sure that the LMS you choose meets your business goals. It can be downloaded at http://www.convergentlearning....ningLMSSelection.pdf

Please feel free to contact me with any questions at mplocek@convergentlearning.com
