Does anyone out there have a generic training evaluation form (happy sheet) which can be used online.

Our trainees are in a variety of sites so having it online would be great, however the main aim is to have an evaluation form on-line which can be automatically summarised and accessed.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

What good is a generic evaluation form? The evaluation should be tied to business objectives which should be tied to performance objectives - which should all be unique to whatever your situation is. Besides, even if you had a custom smile sheet, it would be totally worthless. How happy people are with the training has absolutely nothing to do with performance or anything else except how happy they were at the end of training. And who cares about that? I mean, it's not a bad thing to be happy, but what good does it do you to know whether or not they were happy?

How and when would the participants complete the online evaluation? If you want level 1 feedback to be meaningful, you're going to want participants to respond immediately to open-ended questions. Gathering and averaging numbers on a lychert scale has never been a useful tool for providing constructive participant feedback.

Additionally, level 1 feedback holds no historical value. It is meant for immediate tweaks when (and ONLY when) there is a specific trend in the responses.

A circled 4 out of 5 means absolutely nothing without the explanation to go with it, and it only means anything immediately after the learning opportunity.

Thank you very much for your reply. I understand totally where you are coming from, however what I want to evaluate is a very high level view of the Trainees perception of the: content/materials of the training, knowledge and facilitation skills of the Trainer, comfort levels of the training room/facilities etc. to get an overall feel which will assist us in making enhancements rapidly. By having it online all Trainers can have access to it from their varying sites across Australia.

Thank you for your feedback. We do have other tools to evaluate a learners performance, however what I am trying to achieve by the training feedback sheet is only a high level measure of the learners perception of: content, material, facilitator & environment which can be used for the variety of training programs we provide. If we set up our training for success then we will succeed. The initial perception our new people have is important to us. We do want them to be happy and remain that way which will be reflective in their desire to perform at a high level.
