I am looking for copies of Kirkpatrick's original four articles on training evaluation. They appeared in what was then called the Journal of ASTD - Volume 13 No. 11 & 12 1959 and Volume 14 No. 12 & 13 1960.

Does anyone have copies or know where I can find them?

1959...wow. I knew his stuff was old, but... yeesh. So many newer publications (including those authored and/or edited by Kirkpatrick) with fresh looks at evaluation. So, I'm curious -- why do you need to have the original articles?

If you have not yet seen it,Great Ideas Revisited (Training & Development; Jan96, Vol. 50 Issue 1) includes an abridged version of Kirkpatrick's original articles. The full text of the 1996 work is readily available via online library databases.

Thanks for the notes. I do have a copy of the 1996 article that condenses the four 1959-1960 articles, which is helpful, but I did want to see the originals. It's for a lterature review for a doctoral dissertation about usage and value of the four levels.

ASTD does not have these articles, nor do any libraries that I have searched, so I am hoping that someone out there has a copy.

I wasn't able to find the original articles in any of the library databases I searched either. I've seen it cited in a number of papers and articles, though. No doubt you have as well. Based on my B-level mastery of research methods, this suggests that it may be available via library request. Alternatively, perhaps an inquiry at the source (either U of W or the man himself) is in order?
