Ahua_101,

This is sounding like your professor/advisor is pushing this topic on you. Unfortunately, professors sometimes use students to do all their research for them. Frequently they publish the results under their own name - and leave yours out. I would try to get him/her to narrow the topic down a bit.

What you said is make sense. I think my advisor has high expectation. All students under him need to do mediator. I've seen some of his published paper, he did put the students name.

Nice, but just see that your work is copyrighted and you get a couple of articles in journals that count for tenure AND most importantly make sure that your work has business/organizational applications.
If not you are practicing to be miserable.

Ahua_101,

Your original question - is this a good research project? - has unfortunately not been answered. I don't know the answer. Only one poster has ventured an opinion - that there is possibly no research gap (based on his/her interpretation of the info provided).

Are you doubting the advice of your professor? If so, maybe you should get another thesis advisor. I would certainly be contemplating that if I were not totally convinced that the project was worth doing - at least the way the advisor suggests doing it. It is an interesting area, but the mediating part of it sounds squishy to me - without further clarification from your advisor. Maybe there's a reason that others have not researched the subject. Just because something has not been done before doesn't mean it should be done.

As Nero said, you always write for your committee chairman - but equally important is whether or not you enjoy the process and feel that you are accomplishing something worthwhile. Just my two cents' worth.
