My organization has chosen to go with WebTrends for our web analytics. The way the licensing works, however, we need to filter out our jpg and gif and css, etc. hits so as not to consume our licensed number of hits as I process the backlog of log files starting back at January of this year. WT has suggested prefiltering the logs, but refuses to recommend a product. I found LogParser after some searching, but I don't know how to accomplish these filtering tasks. I'm not very good at scripting, and I don't know anything about SQL. I have not been able to find a simple and concise tutorial on LogParser, nor have I been able to find even a weblog entry for my situation, and the replies I've gotten on the WT boards have been a bit less than informative. Can someone here help me with crafting a query to find certain hits in my IIS log files, strip them out, and output the same input file name to a new directory? I'm really at a loss here, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
