We are looking at setting up a series of courses/workshops which lead to a certification in Training here in Geneva. There are a number of people in our organization that deliver basic lecture trainings as they have for 30 years. We want to upgrade their skills in terms of training methodology. The key, we believe, is the certification piece - how does one set up a certification that would be transferable - recognized by those outside our organization? Many thanks for your kind thoughts.

These are my thoughts: Develop a certification process, it may include training sessions, a written test and an evaluation of a training performed by the trainer. You may include as a minimum requirement one year of training. The certification process should support the vision that organizations have about training. Once you have that, contact the outside organizations and share information about the program, ask for inputs and ideas.

Hope this helps, Ines

Shree_P, Hi:
Check the web page of the American Society for Quality: http://www.asq.org. They provide all sorts of certifications related to the quality field, their classes are excellent, check their bookstore it is very good. Also, check The Juran Instute; www. juran.com. I got my certification as Quality Engineer from ASQ and my certification as a Quality Tools instructor from Juran and the experience and materials were great.

Hope this is the information you are looking for.
