Looking to begin creating content for cross-cultural communication training that explore the differences between American and Asian communication styles/meetings, etc. If anyone has any information to share it would be a great start. Thank you in advance.

Have you read Nick van Dam’s 25 Best Practices? He has a great research-based summary as a best practice that I found useful. Last Nov (actually about the time you posted your question on ASTD’s community board), Nick was keynoting in St. Charles, IL at our 7th Annual Chicagoland Learning Leaders Conference. You can view a video of Nick’s keynote and an engaging discussion on Global learning issues on our website, www.learningexecutive.com. Feel free to reach out to me personally if you want chat sometime.

In Dan O'Connor's, Communicate in America audio program and onsite training seminar, he discusses these differences. Check out Dan's site at www.powerdiversity.com where you can contact him. I'm sure he'll be happy to help at no charge.

Yang Liu has created wonderful pictograms highlighting cultural differences between the Germans and the Chinese.
