Hi, just looking for some good starting texts, articles or resources for cross-cultural issues with designing training for overseas. I am relatively new to training and working with some MNCs and branches, plants overseas, mainly China and Latin America. Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

China is influenced by Confucianism and Communism. You may find the following book very reliable and convincible:

"The geography of thought" by Richard E. Nisbett.

Due to the cultural and historic incidents in the past, Chinese people carry different perception and philosophy from the westerners that then impact their organizational behaviors significantly but understandably if we track back the root. For example they obey and become submissive to seneority and authority. In the workplace we may not hear dissonant voice from Chiense workers. Thus in China, trainers may need to encourage workers to speak out, also pay close attention to body language.
