New to the training field and would like to create a trainer toolkit for myself. Any ideas, books, tips, etc. to have on hand that anyone can think of would help greatly!
I'm very new to the field as well. One of the most beneficial books I've read so far is Rapid Instructional Design by Piskurich. The book is written to help those of us who don't have a degree in ID or much time allotted to us design a course in a short time.
Hope this helps!

Take a look at the tips on my web site. You may find a few ideas you can use. Just don't copy and distribute. By the way, there's a lot of scar tissue behind some of those tips!
Must have book -- The Accelerated Learning Handbook by Dave Meier. Also, seek out any resources (people, books, classes, etc.) to learn as much as you can about how people learn.
In your tool box you may wish to add the following: an intimate understanding of the business/industry you're in, a profound understanding of management ideas and responsibilities, obtain a strategic view, learn how to conduct various forms of diagnosis, don't forget the language of business is dollars, learn the difference of what is true and what is really true.
And that you will need to revise, review and relearn all of the above continously.
