This may be an opportunity to take our own advice as training professionals and ensure your training and education is strategically aligned with your goals/mission.

One way you could do this is to some time and look through the ASTD’s Job Bank. Identify the types of positions you are interested in and see what the minimum and preferred educational requirements are. Then adjust your goals accordingly.

In ASTD’s September TD Magazine there was an article on Online Universities. I thought it a well balanced article on distance learning educational opportunities. I am a graduate of the Boise State’s Instructional and Performance Technology Program (it was included in the article) and would highly recommend it.
