I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but here it goes....
I work for a bank with only 200 employees, with 31 being managers/supervisors and 19 of the 31 being marked as "leaders". We have never had any training for our supervisors, managers, or leaders. Currently we are rolling out a new employee handbook and are training our 31 managers on various HR policies.
However, this is clearly not enough. I'd like to start a leadership training program that includes basic supervisory information (such as dealing with conflict, communicating with your staff, etc.) as well as training to help our managers grow into leaders and make our leaders better at leading their respective departments.
I'm interested to hear about any outstanding companies that you may have outsourced this training to and that left you more than pleased with the results.
Hello, This is my first post. I am looking for resources I can use in designing an online distance learning course for first time supervisors. It is for a class I'm taking at the University of MN. I would greatly appreciate any information you'd be willing to share. Jodi
I really recommend you check out Vital Learning for their Leadership training. You can offer blended (online and classroom component) so that "basic concepts" are covered before they come in for the behavior modeling (aka skills practice or role play) - which if you truly want behavioral changes is a MUST. Otherwise, any course or self-help book can provide the theory/concepts. Didn't notice in which part of the country you are located - would be happy to pass along my rep's name, or you could simply check out their website: vital-learning.com
