I am seeking out any information or referrals to resources to find out the actual breakdown of percentages of generations representing the workforce today.

I can find a significant amount of information on the shortage we expect with the retiring baby boomers, but very little breakdowns on how the generation gaps currently represent the workforce. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

I searched via google for
us workforce generation ~breakdown
and found
http://blog.diversityjobs.com/node/6508329
from 2007 (data from 2006) which says:
* The generation born before 1946 made up just 7 percent of the workforce
* Baby boomers, born from 1946 through 1964, made up 42 percent of the workforce
* Generation X, born from 1965 through 1977, made up 29 percent of the workforce
* Generation Y, born in 1978 and later, made up 22 percent.
