At my last company we used Philly Hops. They facilitate really creative, out of the box teambuilding events. I am sure they could tailor it to your group's needs.

Since there is no indication of temporal, geographical, virtual/co-location factors experience with teams or how attractive is your organization to teams(your culture), or what type of financial institution you have. The following will be of assistance:
1. Have the creative people work out their own "systems" and practices to meet the expectations/goals the organization asks (you have not specified this). In short LET THEM DECIDE. 2. Read some accounts on how they "handled" this problem in the "Manhattan Project" 3. See also "Skunk Works". 4. You might be surprise what they come up with is management prepared?? dkim, is this something along the lines of what 3M does? If I'm not mistaken they do this to help with generating new product lines within a certain time frame.
