Hello,
Does anyone know of a decent assessment tool to assess leadership at supervisory and management levels? I will be starting to assess the gaps in the area of leadership with our supervisors and managers to roll out a management development program. If you have had success with a particular instrument I would be very interested in learning more about that.

We just used the surveys from the Center for Creative Leadership for some of our leaders and were happy with the results we got. We plan to do another round.

We also ask questions about manager effectiveness in our all-employee surveys.

Thanks for the info. I wish I had an employee survey that I could get this information from. Our organization has not done one in some time and the buy in to do one is not really there. This has recently come up with my supervisor - SR VP of HR, as I have suggested that we need to do one as we embark on a paradigm shift in cultural change. I don't see how we can move forward without knowing the pulse of our team members and their thoughts of the organization.

I have no budget for training - how expensive is the assessment through the Center for Creative Leadership?

There is a survey that you can find at http://www.explorehr.org/articles/HR_Tools/Employee_Satisfaction_Survey.html This survey tool is generally used to measure employee satisfaction level. But, in the third section of this survey, there are many useful questions that address leadership effectiveness. Maybe you can utilize those specific questions to address your needs.
