Does anyone have any information on trainings or programs available to move a team from Norming to Performing?

You might need to be a little more specific in your request for information, as all training interventions should aim to develop a teams performance.
I would imagine your question relates to storming, forming, norming and performing and you are asking something about people being just good at a job and you need them to move on to excelling, but I'm having trouble getting my head around the true question you are asking here. ---------------------------------- For training resources, training course materials, trainers notes, training courses, training games and many other free training tools, visit: http://www.trainerbubble.com . Hi javarone,
Can't help with a specific training or program. In working with teams and team leaders I found it enormously helpful to spend some up-front time informally introducing and discussing Bruce Tuckman's thoughts on the stages of group development. Before getting to work on a task or relationship I wanted them to know what to expect, how to recognize it, and provide a preview of activities we might use to help move through a stage. Having the path forward already filed away the teams were far more adept at recognizing the various behaviors and self-correcting. Within the norming stage itself, as everyone got comfortable with their team, I found it quite common for folks to get a bit sloppy...requiring a reminder of the task. Jeff |

Hi,
I think Tuckmans theorys suggests that all teams, new and old ones, go through all of those stages to some extend whenever a new challenge is upon them. If you think that your team is stuck on the Norming stage, you migt want to raise up that issue in your next gathering - "whats going on?" type of thing. If you are looking for means to develop teams, and to develop them fast. And maybe even learn something new about team work, then I would recommend reviewing NoviCraft -an awareness game. In NoviCraft your team will go through all the stages you mentioned, couple of times. They start with a sence of ambiquity, and distraction, followed by trus that emerges between the players. From there on the communication and sence of unity evolves to a stage where they actually have to work and perform togather. Good luck with your team! br, Tomi |
