When the top executive talks about changing the corporate culture he seldom means he is going to change his own behavior.
"Changing the corporate culture" is short hand for "I want my employees to do what I want them to do at the time I want them to it and in the manner I want it done." The book "The Fifth Discipline" does a very good job of explaining why change doesn't happen even when everyone agrees to the change. Sometimes it is wiser to move on rather than stay and work towards change that no one really wants. If the CEO has appointed you as his change agent and will fire anyone who gets in your way, then go for it otherwise be very careful and keep the ressme up to date, you'll need it if the others get you fired. In order to even remotely change corporate culture, one must understand what it is and how it is formed in the first place.
