Good Morning,
I've been tasked to develop a program for the event National Career Month to be held in November 2009. This will be open to all faculty and staff at my University. We'd like to hold various workshops throughout the month and either kick it off with a motivational speaker or end it with the speaker. I'm looking for workshop ideas and possible speakers. Is there anybody out there that's done this before for their organization? I look forward to hearing from many of you! If you prefer, you can reach me offline via email at kcose@pacific.edu or call me at 209-946-2096. Kim |

Kim, Theme and Purpose??

Theme and purpose is twofold:
1.Provide employees an opportunity to network, and fill up their "toolbox" to increase their knowledge and skills in hopes it will aid them in their current position as well as lay a foundation for growth in future positions. 2. Increase their enthusiasm and satisfaction in their current positions. Does that help? |

Yes and No. The objectives are worthwhile and it is National Career Day. But what is the context and focus. Is it for the university to meet the challenging dynamics of the 21st century or New directions for a vibrant and robust institution or We have a great organization lets get better etc. What is the overall theme?
It is an excellent opportunity to make the, staff and faculty aware of the knowledge, ideas, competencies..... that your institution will need and their possible role(s) in it. As for program : Seminars, workshops that address the theme and given by university people in a variety of ways. Nero |
