Hi cpurnell 43

Just like TPrewitt I'm going to implement the same buddy program in my firm.
Is it possible that you can send the mentioned documents.
My area is retailing but I hope it will be very helpful for me to get an overview for that program.

Thanks in advance

I actually helped design and implement a Buddy Program at my former company. The program works well for the company as well as new hires in the fact that it aids in employee retention and job satisfaction. It also creates an immediate support system for the new employee. Email me and I'll send you some documents on the program

We have two different types of buddy programs. There is the workgroup buddy and a corporate buddy. Obviously, the workgroup buddy is a peer within their workgroup, does a similar job, uses the same processes, etc. The corporate buddy is someone who isn't within the same department, workgroup. The purpose of the corporate buddy is to help the new employee assimulate into the company from a cultural standpoint. They take the employee on a tour of the campus, answer questions, and are available if the new employee wants them. The buddy's volunteer. It is rotational. We do match managers to managers. There are special positions where we may match a new employee to a particular person because of the person's position or knowledge. It is not a mentor program. We have folks who have been buddies for years and we have new employees volunteering. If you'd like to learn more, let me know.
