I am developing a training presentation for some managers on the possible need to consider new managment / operational structure.
I am trying to find some short movie / video clips that I could incorporate into the presentation for the participants to understand the potential need for change (like Who Moved My Cheese or My Iceberg is Melting). Any good suggestions for movie / video clips that could be serious or more hopefully comical. Thanks - Douglas W. Nelson |

DW,
If your leadership believes there is a compelling case for change then they need to make it. (If you are the leader then you need to make it). You don't need a clever device, game, or activity. If you expect your team to take this seriously then act consistently. I've attached a rough framework for how-to proceed. Nothing fancy...just notes from experience. Thank you for your reply. What we are doing is cosidering changing our managment structure to include more "hourly" support, and fewer salaried managers. Much like a Starbucks, Fast Food, or breakfast shop (Einstien, Panera) might do.
We are posing this question to our regional managers to follow up with the managment teams. This would me perhaps more "managerial" functions by the fewer managers, and possibly more guest contact and guest relation follow up by "team/shift leaders". This is why we are debating the possible need for orgainizational structure change. I'll read over your attachment. Thanks |

Got it DW...thanks. I took your original post to mean something a bit different.
In any case, you are wise to include your stakeholder early and often. As you know, when we just serve up a plan and ask others to implement it rarely goes well. Your planned dalogues will be instructive for all. |
