Hello - I am looking for in-depth executive leadership development programs that are general in nature and appropriate for VP level and above. Courses that are between 5K - 15K and last several days to 2 weeks would be great. Has anyone participated in or sent any of your executives to anything like this recently? We've done some research on the internet, but have been very disappointed with the results. There doesn't seem to be as much external executive training now as there used to be.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Tammy...before making a decison on executive devleopment programs..it would be worth the effort togo through the process of identifying the leadership competencies for your executive management team..I don't think that money and time should be the determiners of a great program.

That being said..i would definitely suggest the following:

Center for Creative Leadership-Greensboro North Carolina..specifically The Looking Glass program

also Weatherhead School of Management in Cleveland Ohio...check affilitae programs...especially emotional intelligence and appreciaitve inquiry

for devlepment of presence and presenation skills- Blac Isle Consultants of Toronto and New York

additional executive development: Linkage at linkage.com

for webcasts and case studies..harvardbusinessonline.com

Hope this helps

CCL-Center for Creative Leadership has some good programs.

Have you tried some of the business schools? They have some good executive programs targeted towards VP's and senior management.

Tammy,

There used to be a sourcebook called "Bricker's" that was chock full of information about executive development programs, in particular those offered by Universities around the country. I am not sure if that is still available, but it would be a great source if it was. There was another sourcebook as well, but I can't remember the name right off. It was based in Iowa and I remember the cover was blue. I used both of these sources and cross-checked them to match Development Experiences with the needs of my Executives. You can contact me at markf@mjfassociates.com if you would like to chat more.

Have you also considered some kind of coaching to follow-up on development experiences? That may be a very good way to help your executives implement ideas they learned during their workshops. Mark

Tammy, check next month's T+D Magazine. I believe it features LEADERSHIP. Perhaps someone featured in that issue that aligns with your philosophies can help you. Programs do exist. Good ones.
sf,

Boom
