What roles/job titles have you held prior to your current role? What role/title do you now aspire?

I'm presenting at the San Diego Conference Career Center. We know that career paths are as varied as we are individual. In this informal survey, I'm looking for real-life examples of the paths you've taken. Please, don't send me your beautiful resume, just roles or titles.
Many thanks!

My path:

College (BS Curriculum & Instruction) ----> High school math and computer teacher 3 years ----> Career Change ----->

New Company: Corporate IT Help Desk -----> Trainer & Tech Writer ------> Manager of Help Desk & Training -----> MBA in Finance ----> Hostile takeover, stock buy out, and corporate lay off (12 years total w/this company)---->

New Company: Director in Call Center Operations (business unit, not IT) -----> Director of Quality Assurance -----> Director of Instructional Design (5 years at this company)

Not a linear career path!

I kind of backed into the learning and development field. I went to college originally with the plan to teach secondary ed. Ran out of money so I worked in the corporate world for several years. When I went back to school I ended up with a business degree. The path that led to training was as follows:
- Sr. Franchise Administrator (but did a lot of training of new franchisees & other administrators)
- Technical writer (same company)
- Instructional designer (same company)
- Leadership facilitator (same company)
- Training manager (different company)
- VP Retail Training (same company as Training Manager)
- Manager, Corporate Learning and Development (different company, current position)
Most of my "training" has been on the job and through conferences, seminars and a lot of reading.

Hope this helps.
