I created a manager on-boarding program based off of the Book "The First 90 Days" by Michael Watkins. I highly suggest it.

have you thought about the "successful manager's handbook?: It's by PDI. It depends on the level of your management team, but includes some valuable info.

Anything by Drucker and advise the individual to closely read all the trade, industry material. This will provide a context for his mangement skill development.
